New York City Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) Certification

New York City Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) Certification

Why Choose Us?

We provide end-to-end support to help businesses successfully navigate the NYC certification and vendor registration process (PIP). While the certification itself is offered free through the City, many business owners choose to partner with us because the process can be time-intensive, detail-driven, and administratively demanding. Our role is to manage the steps, minimize delays, and position your application for a smoother review experience.

Our Service Includes:

  • Expert documentation review to ensure required materials are accurate, complete, and aligned with certification standards, which helps prevent common delays or requests for additional information.
  • Create your Payee Information Portal (PIP) so your business is properly entered into the NYC payment and procurement system.
  • Application portal setup and entry, including structured upload and organization of all required forms and supporting documentation.
  • Submit your application formally, along with all supplemental materials required for review.
  • We will provide ongoing status monitoring and follow-up to help ensure your application is routed to the appropriate departments and continues progressing through the certification process.
  • We will directly communicate with and manage inquiries from NYC Small Business Services to address questions, clarifications, or requests for additional documentation on your behalf.

This service is designed to allow business owners to remain focused on running and growing their businesses while we manage the administrative complexity of the certification process.

Documentation Timeline and Service Terms

  • Clients are required to submit all requested documentation within 30–45 days from the date the deposit is received so that Maroon Strategist can prepare and submit the certification file.
  • If a client becomes non-responsive for more than 90 days, the engagement will be considered inactive. Restarting the process after this period will be treated as a new service, and work will not resume from the previous phase.
  • Once the application file is accepted and submitted to NYC Small Business Services (SBS), clients should expect standard review timelines. Maroon Strategist is not responsible for SBS processing times, requests, determinations, or final approval decisions. While Maroon Strategist has maintained a strong historical approval success rate, certification outcomes ultimately remain at the discretion of SBS.

Please note that work does not begin until the required deposit is received, and applications will not be submitted until the full service balance has been paid.

Additional Services (Not Included in Base Fee):

Postage, printing, document preparation outside standard requirements, or additional paperwork requests will be billed separately if needed.
